Session 1: Succession Planning Session 1: 9– 11 a.m. MT — Family businesses are a unique breed that come with their own rewards as well as their own challenges. You will walk through what it really takes to position your business for the next generation, and just as important, what it takes to prepare your successor.

Session 2: Entrepreneurship 2.0 — Session 2: noon-2 p.m. MT — This session will show you how to take your passion and your ideas, and get a jump start bringing them to the market place. Learn how to research your industry then find and negotiate with existing businesses to achieve ownership. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to become a business owner, maybe sooner than you thought!

Session 3: Economic Development Leadership- Session 3: 3-5 p.m. MT – 52 percent of small business owners will leave their businesses in the next 10 years. Is your community or region ready for that? Does it sound like a potential crisis? The bottom line is that too many business owners wait until it’s too late to plan for a successful exit. You need to help them. This session will help you understand how to do it, and where to find additional help.

Session 4: Business Exit Planning Session 4: 6– 8 p.m. MT — Did you know it can take up to three years to get your business ready for sale? Failing to take the time to do it right means you’ve left money on the table. This program is designed for owners who plan to sell their business sometime in the next five years. We’ll discuss what sellers want, what buyers need, how financing and bookkeeping affect a sale, and who can help you.
